Term Life Insurance
Usually associated with Family Protection and Business Protection, this type of policy provides an amount payable on death. This stays the same throughout a set term. As there is no investment element involved at the end of the policy the contract expires without value.
Mortgage Life Insurance
Generally used for mortgage protection, this type of insurance falls into the category of decreasing term assurance - generally the cheapest form of life cover. Every year the total sum of life assurances lessens, normally on a fixed-rate scale, and by the end of the term it is zero.
Critical Illness Cover
Generally used for Family, Business and Mortgage Protection, this type of policy pays a lump sum benefit if the life assured is diagnosed as suffering from one of a specified list of illnesses.
